The short version. Everything you enter into Metronome is stored on your phone and is never sent to us. There is no account and no login. The app does not read from or write to Apple Health or Health Connect. It contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK. The only data that leaves your device goes to our payments provider, RevenueCat: the app contacts it each time it starts, to load the purchase options and check whether you have an active purchase, and when you buy, which is handled by Apple or Google and RevenueCat.
Metronome is published by Lakeside Digital. If you have a question about anything on this page, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and a person will answer.
The app keeps everything you enter on your device, in the app’s own storage:
The app asks for no permissions: no microphone, no camera, no notifications. The clicks are generated on your phone, so nothing is recorded or listened to.
None of this is sent to us. There is no account and no server of ours; nothing is collected and nothing passes through a server of ours, because we do not have one.
One service is involved: RevenueCat. The app contacts it each time it starts and when you make a purchase, whether or not you ever buy anything.
Each time the app starts, it asks RevenueCat which purchase options are available and whether your installation has an active purchase. When you buy a subscription or the one-time purchase, or tap “Restore”, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play, depending on your device, and RevenueCat checks whether it is valid and still active. For that, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated for your installation, basic device and country information supplied by the store, and, if you bought something, the store transaction details. It does not receive your name, your email address, or anything else listed above. RevenueCat acts as our processor. Their own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
On iPhone and iPad, the app also passes RevenueCat an Apple Ads attribution token that Apple provides where one exists, which tells us only whether an install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign. It is not linked to your identity, it is never combined with anything you enter in the app, and no advertising SDK is present in the app.
Metronome is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Because your settings and scores never leave your phone, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Deleting the app removes them. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and by Apple or Google are retained under their own policies and for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information held about you, and to object to certain processing. In practice we hold almost nothing: your settings and scores are on your device only, and the purchase record is keyed to an anonymous identifier. If you want to exercise a right, or want the purchase record associated with your installation deleted, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and we will act on it. To manage or cancel a subscription itself, use Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone, or Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions in Google Play on Android.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be flagged in the app.
